Happy Holidays!

Just wanting to wish everyone a joyful and safe holiday season. We have enjoyed ours so far. It has been insanely busy but so enjoyable at the same time. We are enjoying watching our kids discover the heart of Christmas- Jesus' birth- and all the beauty that surrounds it. We pray your holiday will bless you in the same way as you remember God's amazing gift to us that beautiful night in Bethlehem.

What a cutie!

Gabriel finally started walking! He is growing so fast and his little personality is melting my heart every day. He has such a sweet spirit- and is such a little lover. Time passes too quickly, I am so thankful I can be a first hand witness to all his learning and growing. What a handsome boy he is growing into! Posted by Picasa

Four!

The adjustment from 3 to 4 kids has been a really smooth one. I feel like life never stops around here. Things are always hopping- there is always something to do- someone to cuddle, an owie to pray for and kiss, questions to answer, and oh so much more! I love every moment... and I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with them. The kids love their new brother. Even Gabriel showers his little bro with kisses and loves all day long. Little Elijah is not lacking for attention and loving- that is for sure. It is so amazing to think about how awesomely and intricately God created us in the womb. How we come out so small and perfect. So tiny and intricate- all the details of our person- put together so beautifully.
What an awesome Creator we serve!!

Welcome, Elijah Jeremiah

HEY! We have finally had our 4th child. As you know he is a healthy boy, Elijah Jeremiah Scharpe, and he was 2 weeks and 6 days early. Well, early from his expected date Nov. 25th, but he was scheduled for the 17th. (cesarean) He weighed in at 8 lb 4 oz and was 21 in long. Quite the boy! :) He was very healthy and has no problems, but I have a hard time making something that's not perfect! He is very cute and has tons of hair... I think. But compared to our others, they had none. I will try to add pictures to this blog tomorrow. God is so awesome to have blessed us again! We love you all and thank you for your prayers. FALL IS HERE!!!!!

Fall has finally arrived! This is truly my favorite time of year. The trees are turning, the air is so crisp and clean, and the sky is such a brilliant blue- I love it! Yesterday we went out to Miah's sister's farm to help them harvest sorgum. What an undertaking that has been! Gabe sat in the swing, played in the grass, and loved exploring the farm. Elia played on the playground and helped carry some stalks of sorgum for us. It was a beautiful day. Our arms and backs are sore but it will be worth it when we get some sorgum to enjoy. Happy happy fall everyone!!

I Love My Hair!!

Yesterday was messy hair day at my school! It is a silly day that I like. I asked mama to do my hair like Syndro from the Incredibles movie. It was my best day ever at school. And I love it! It is fun playing and its fun doing crafts. I really like my teacher and this is my best day EVER!!!

Back to School time!

I can hardly believe it is time for school again. More than that, I can hardly believe Isabel will be starting Kindergarten on Wednesday. It really does not seem possible for her to be old enough already. I am excited for her but also so sad.... I know I will miss her terribly, she keeps everything interesting. We'll see how it goes. But for now, I will be enjoying every moment I have with her until she goes. Posted by Picasa

Always on the move!

Gabriel loves the pool! Yesterday the water was a bit cold and he was only too content to sit on my towel and eat crackers. He is too too cute! When we got home, I was putting all the swimmming gear away and looked to see what he was up to. Sure enough, Gabe is up on the bottom stair! He just decided he wanted to climb the stairs by himself and went right ahead and did it. He is so fast- like he has been doing it forever! Of course, his sisters think it is the most amazing thing a baby has ever done and continue to lure him up the stairs every few minutes. I have to invest in a gate of some sort or I'll never get anything done! He is growing too fast! Posted by Picasa
Yesterday we went to the Silver Lake pool for the last day of the swimming season. The girls are sad they can't go back to the pool until next summer... but they had great fun. Isabel jumped off the diving board several times. Miah didn't catch her- she would go nearly to the bottom and swim up to him and he'd help her to the side. I am amazed she wasn't even a little bit nervous or fearful! She is our little fish-girl. Elia loves doing somersaults in the water and seeing how long she can hold her breath under water, and jumping off the side. And they are so cute in their little goggles!! Posted by Picasa

Teeth!

Gabe cut his second tooth today. I really cannot believe how fast he is growing up. He is soooo cute. His personality reminds me a lot of Miah.... he seems so shy and serious when he is around people... but really, when we get home, he is so funny. He is so easy to make laugh. What a joyful baby he is! We feel so blessed by all our kids. They all have such sweet and kind spirits... it is awesome to watch them open their hearts to God and listen to what He asks of them. A day hardly goes by that Isabel (now called "Izzie" by Elia), isn't stopping to pray for someone that has an owie of any kind. And Elia... this girl has a servant's heart. Always volunteering to help or trying to think of something nice to do for someone else. And this new baby on the way- we are looking forward to meeting him or her and so excited to see what God will do in and through him or her! Not to mention to find out finally if baby is a HIM or HER!!! How blessed we are. How truly blessed we are.

Isabel's Two Cents

This post is from my daughter Isabel. My name is Isabel Iona Scharpe. I really love my papa. He told me a joke one day about some peanuts. I really liked it and this is what it is. Two peanuts were walking down the street and one was assaulted. I am now in pre-school and love going. We play games and do other fun things like make trees, play with playdough, make red things, and play with toys. I even learn stuff there like painting, the abc's, and numbers. I know how to spell my name. I love papa.
